What do you see as you watch this video of David Garibaldi
painting on stage?
What makes it so difficult to guess the painting’s
subject?
Since the end of the Christmas season, we have heard over and
over in our Gospel readings how Jesus’ disciples never quite seem to see him for
who he truly is: the Son of God. The demons he casts out do, and even call him
by name, the Holy One of God. It is
not until Jesus dies on the Cross and then rises again that his disciples really
come to see him as he truly is: God
incarnate, made man to take our sins to the Cross. And after that, things are never the same again.
God is here, and we will never be the same.
God is here, and we will never be the same.
