Loving One Another

In this past Sunday's Gospel,
Jesus tells us that the greatest commandment is
to love God, and to love neighbor.

Consider this.

"In practice, to stretch and yield into interpersonal love is to risk greater attachment, to dance along the edges of dependence and sometimes fall over… Do not contrive anything, but if the invitation is more to love than to safety, choose love.  Let yourself love God, other people, and God-in-other-people even if you feel unable or afraid of being hurt; let yourself be loved by God, other people, and God-in-other-people even if you feel unworthy or afraid of being overwhelmed."

"You may feel there are too many people to love and be loved by – that more loving would be hopeless complication.  Or you may feel there is no one to love or to love you.  Either way, it is not your business to make loving happen.  Only be willing, open, stretching and yielding into what is given.  Let it happen, where and when and as it will.  And pray."
