Should you find yourself in Burlingame over the next few weeks, you might want to stop by the Mercy Center to see ILLUSTRATED PSALMS, with art by Doris Arrington, Frances Freybert Blackburn, Dorothy Gater, and Marilyn de Kleer.
Through photography, assemblage, collage and drawing, the artists explore themes of praise and thanksgiving expressed in ancient Hebrew and Christian sacred texts. Abstract and representational imagery are used to find the spirit behind the timeless words.
Mercy Center is an internationally known conference and retreat center sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. It is located 15 miles south of San Francisco.
