Mere attendance [at Mass] is not
enough. Being fully present is what will enrich not only our liturgical celebrations in and of
themselves, but empower our hearts to be free to embrace Jesus as the way for
our lives. Being fully present is
effort. It should, in a good way, be
exhausting. It is to allow ourselves to
be poured out for each other.
Jesus never said, I have come that you might have
liturgy.
He did say, I have come that you might have life.
