Vocation as revelation (Evelyn Whitehead)

Vocation is a gradual revelation –
of me to myself by God...
It is who we are, trying to happen.

--Evelyn Whitehead

On this, the 40th anniversary of your ordination to the priesthood, we give profound thanks for God’s revelation of your vocation to you, Fr. Patrick Michaels, a vocation that you have come to embrace with humility and surrender, creativity and love, and that you have fulfilled with a long and rich record of service to your flock.

May the remaining months of your well-earned and well-deserved sabbatical bring you much joy, as you seek out the beautiful and the good and the true in all of God’s creation, from the natural world to the artistic marvels of humankind. We look forward to your return home to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and to your own continued revelation to us of God’s kingdom in all its wonder.

Wishing you every blessing
on your 40th Anniversary, Fr. Pat!
