A shoot shall sprout: what are you cultivating this season?


On that day, we are told, a shoot shall sprout.  Advent is a time to plant the seeds of expectation, with the hope of bearing true and lasting fruit.  What are you cultivating in your life right now?  Michael Rose, who writes for the Evangelical Center for Spiritual Wisdom, embraces Advent as a time for cultivating a plethora of possibilities, with the hope that each and every one of them – from simplicity to silence and gratitude to gentleness, from forgiveness to fidelity by way of rest, weakness, patience, and hope – will bear fruit.
