The Gospel reading scheduled for Tuesday, December 18, tells the story of Joseph's acceptance of God's invitation to adopt Jesus as his own child. "The natural genealogical line is broken, but the promise to David is fulfilled; through Joseph's adoption the child belongs to the family of David" (USCCB). It is a brave act. Are we so brave as to adopt Jesus into our hearts as well?
