Jesus asks you to let go (Fr. James Martin)

Lazarus’s Tomb is located in Bethany.  And the modern-day name of Bethany is beautiful:  in Arabic, it is El Azariah, the Town of Lazarus.

Often, we ask our pilgrims to bring to Lazarus’s Tomb anything that they want to let die.  Perhaps it’s a resentment, a grudge, an unhealthy way of living.  At the end of a long, winding, slippery stone staircase is the simple tomb, into which one has to crawl on one’s hands and knees to enter.  It can be a powerful moment for many people as they not only hear Jesus asking them to let go, but also to come out into new life… Jesus came into a real place in a real time and encountered real people.  As he comes into your real life

So what would you like to let die in your life?  Jesus asks you to die to self only to give you life in full.  Just like he did for Lazarus.  So come out.
