Forty habits to surrender for Lent...

 LENT STARTS TOMORROW!
(AND YES, WE KNOW IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY...)

In a Facebook post in late January,
Fr. Ron Rolheiser noted that all of Jesus' precepts
can be boiled down to one word:  surrender.
Thinking about giving up chocolate or Facebook for Lent?
Perhaps you might consider choosing actively
to surrender one of the following each day…

1.     fear of failure
2.    your comfort zone
3.    feelings of unworthiness
4.    impatience
5.     disengagement
6.    people-pleasing
7.     constant comparison
8.    blame
9.    guilt
10.  overcommitment
11.   dwelling on the past
12.  arrogance
13.  entitlement
14.  apathy
15.  hatred
16.  negativity
17.  the need for approval
18.  going through the motions
19.  complaining
20. the pursuit of wealth
21.  bitterness
22. envy
23. giving up
24. mediocrity
25. destructive speech
26. busy-ness
27. loneliness
28. disunity
29. the quick fix
30. worry
31.  idolizing
32. pride
33. a small view of God
34. the need always to be right
35. ungratefulness
36. selfish ambition
37. self-sufficiency
38. sorrow
39. resistance to change
